Flexible Thinking

Learning new clinical skills, documenting ideas, and translating application of knowledge during fieldwork can be overwhelming for students. Oftentimes, as students are growing their independence with their clinical skills, students find it challenging to develop appropriate treatment plans and modify a plan in the moment. The tools below were designed to help breakdown these steps further. Students can use these tools to promote problem solving while they are developing their clinical reasoning.

Directions: Have students use these templates to develop a treatment plan and appropriate modifications of an upgraded plan and a downgraded plan. Look over your student's plan and provide feedback for your student. These templates can be used for all patients or patients that are perceived as more complex/challenging.
