Through my own experience as a fieldwork educator and as one of our site's student coordinators I developed a strong interest in adult learning and education.

 

Over the past several years, trends have shown an increase in students who struggle to meet site objectives and which places fieldwork educators at an increased risk for burnout. As a result, I became invested in developing a resource to mitigate challenges accompanied with hosting a struggling student.

 

My vision was to create a resource built on adult learning principles, that supports a psychologically safe environment, and fosters clinical performance skills in necessary areas. This resource was designed to be utilized as an individualized tool to facilitate a supportive educator and student experience on fieldwork.

 

Literature shows that students are more likely to succeed when provided with individualized experiences rooted in adult learning principles.
